 Let's talk about having a class at your facility!  

Yes, we can definitely talk about small group or family training.

First of all, a huge thank you to individuals to have taken classes from me, have recommended my classes to others, and are now contacting me for additional training or recommending my classes to friends and acquaintances.

What qualifies an individual to teach:

Wisconsin Concealed Carry. According to Senate Bill 93, Section 38, (4) Training Requirements, sub-paragraph e. “A firearms safety or training course that is conducted by a firearms instructor who is certified by a national or state organization that certifies firearms instructors or who is certified by the department.”   Wisconsin requires that CCW instructors have at least 8 hours of formal training.  In 2011, I received almost 50 hours of training by National Rifle Association Training Counselors.

Utah Concealed Carry.  Instructors must be certified NRA instructors, have successfully completed the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit class, travel to Salt Lake City, UT to complete the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor Class, complete certification process with Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Criminal Identification, and then re-certify every 3 years.. 

Florida Concealed Carry.  My class curriculum for the Florida Permit (CFP's) is designed to provide people with the required information on firearm safety, applicable concealed carry laws, and the law regarding the use of force and deadly force. 

As a certified National Rifle Association Pistol Instructor, I am authorized to teach the Florida Concealed Carry class, per the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services – Division of Licensing.

Minnesota Permit to Carry (Concealed Carry).   Register as a LLC in Minnesota, develop curriculum, submit for approval, and receive written authorization to teach Minnesota Permit to Carry from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.  

IMPORTANT  NOTES:

Wisconsin - ONLY issues a resident permit.

Utah - Students will have their fingerprints taken on a blue fingerprint card and will be given a passport size photo.  If your state of residence issues a CCW permit, you must have that permit before applying for the Utah permit.

Florida - students will be given a passport size photo.  Fingerprints must be taken at a local law enforcement office.

** There are instructors who teach classes that they claim will qualify for multiple states.  I do not do that.  Students need to fully understand the laws and the ramifications of protecting yourself as it pertains to the carry and self-defense law of each state.  There are states such as Utah, that say you can combine courses, but also tell the instructors that they do not want the courses taught for multiple states.   

ALL students, in all classess, who successfully complete a carry class will receive a signed certificate.  I require that students show handgun proficiency at ALL classes.  I pay for range rental, if required.  Some ranges require that students purchase a day pass.  That is the responsibility of the student.

The other question that I have been asked is about course content.  For WI and FL CCW, no specific outline is required. For UT and MN CCW, I use the outlines developed by those states and have added to that material as well.
